I need a good slime or liquid look for my base help

Ok 'm working on my Nurgle army again which means massive amount of mental planning. actually too much but that is me. So I love the corpse field bases from Secret Weapon Minatures.
It's a wonderful base and is recessed so I can add a little liquid look to the bases. I'm looking for the corpse to look like the are laying in a liquid. So here is my problem how do I achieve this and not go overpowering. I'm painting the base first the attaching the mini then hoping to pour the liquid layer last. So I need something that flows and dries clear. Also looking to add a little of color to this too. Then how do I do this and not have it over powering and I loose the paint job under the liquid???
Any help would be great.

Also does anyone have a size comparison of the mantic games zombies to a imperial guard model too. I'm adding plague zombies to the army an I really like this model beat the current vampire count army zombie hands down.

Thanks

The Nurgle's Rot really is a great effect and you cna thin it down. Alternately you could try with some good old 'Arcoat to give your paint job a shine and make it look like liquid with out actually adding a large amount of material over it.

Ard coat I didn't think of that thanks for the tip guys now I can make ard coat look like it is standing water or puddles. Cause that is the effect I'm shooting for not too worried about them being shiny all over more of a floater look or dead in puddles of bile??

Should work, just put the ardcoat over the areas you want to look like liquid. As always I'll put out the disclaimer to try it elsewhere first so you don't ruin a model if you don't like it.
