http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/8.page JForum - http://www.jforum.net 40K based on a historical vehicle. I know that this is not a new idea but two things always bother me when looking at most of these conversions.

a) Most people use 1:35 kits as a starting point which do not fit very well to the scale of 40K IMHO.

b) Mostly the vehicles used are too "modern". Of course this is a matter of taste and a very individual choice but I rather like the old style.

Thus I selected a 1:48 kit of a soviet scout car from WW2 named Ba-64B. The scale is closer to 28-30mm and as the original vehicle itself is comparably small it does not look oversized. Apart from that the look of early WW2 soviet equipment is very crude and I think it fits more or less into the 40K universe.

I will add a Tallarn driver in the near future. It fits perfectly into the small turret and will give a nice comparison regarding scale.

Due to a lack of photography skills I was not able to catch the correct hue of the camouflage until now. Nevertheless I am interested in your comments.

However, this looks great! It could definitely fit in with a 40K IG force.
