It's a nice terrain piece but I've got no idea on how to paint the water area. Has anyone painted a river before? Can you give me an idea of what colours you used for the water? It doesn't really matter what water effect product you use as they are all really just clear resin. One word of advice from lessons learned is to not poor more than 1/8" at a time. Also what ever you paint underneath will show up. so swirling your paint and stuff adds some interesting looking features.

Easiest way I can think of is basecoating a very dark blue, then increasingly light drybrushes... depending on the sort of water you want you could give some parts a light green wash or something like that...
You could look up some dreadfleet painting tutorials on youtube as those models had water bases
