First Time Tyranid Player looking for input

I'm looking to build a general list of tyranids that can perform decently at all comers in a non-competitive build.
Re:First Time Tyranid Player looking for input

This looks like a fine non-competitive list. I have a couple suggestions however:
1) I would either run 2 FMCs, or none. Having only one will get it shot down early. I would either trade out the carnifex or haruspex for a flyrant/harpy/crone, or I would change to a tyrant with tyrant guard for some cc goodness.
2) Genestealers are tough to use. You probably know that they aren't competitive. If you want to run them, I would keep the upgrades to a minimum so that you can have more bodies to soak up overwatch and other shooting. Probably drop the adrenal and maybe the toxin sacs as well. You'll get more out of them if you have extra guys.
3) Drop the regen off of the haruspex and the carnifex. Those 60 points could be spent on more models, like bumping up your term and horm squads. While regen MIGHT get you back a wound or 2 a game, good opponents will just focus down one MC at a time until it's dead (especially at high point values like this), so you won't get anything out of your regen. Instead, having another 15 terms on the board will soak up more fire and ensure your troops will be able to hold objectives late game.

With these suggestions, I would run something like this:
HQ:
Tyrant w/ LW/BS, toxin sacs, desiccator larvae
2 Tyrant guard

Elite:
Haruspex w/ adrenal
2 Zoanthropes

Troops:
3 warriors w/ 2 deathspitters and a barbed strangler
20 terms
20 terms
10 genestealers w/ brood lord and scything talons

Subterranean Swarm
Trygon Prime
Tyrgon
Mawloc
3 Ravener Broods w/ deathspitters (so they do something the turn they come in)

This puts you at 1996 points and will do well in a non-competitive meta. Tons of heavies, will hit hard, and troops to hold objectives.

Thanks for the suggestions. I hadn't thought about the regen that way and I definitely see you point about it's worth vs. more bodies on the board.
