Sisters of Battle Seraphim, leave them or remount?

I have some Sisters of Battle Seraphim I plan to paint. Looking at them, they have the goofy tabs off the bottom of the feet to make them look airborne. Do people leave them like this or cut that off and mount them on a steel rod?

If you were buying these models used would it be a deal breaker if they were not 100% stock/original models?

Personally I think wire/rod mount is better. Some people use the see through plastic rods.

As to second question, entirely personal.

Apologies if that's no help.

Those tabs are very, very goofy looking.

If they were my models, I would definitely cut them off. I would probably mount them on a 1/8" clear plastic rod after slowly, and carefully, and paintstakingly dremelling out a notch in the center. Yes, I know they're white metal.

You also could, if you were feeling ambitions, do what this guy did.

I don't sell my models so I cannot speak to the resale considerations.

Sisters of Battle Seraphim, leave them or remount?

I just complete my objective : getting 2 squads of 10 seraphims from ebay. Now I'm cutting them from their original base to make them look like they are jumping / flying / falling. I use 1mm brass rods to pine them one their new bases. The metal feets are strong and thick enough to support being hand-drilled. You can see a good conversion exemple here (not my work but I found the very models inspiring).

I don't think I would sell them but as a buyer, conversion or broken bases were not a problem since I aimed to do some conversion work.

I leave them on, but paint them to look like a "whoosh" of air: sky-blue at the base that grades into white (at the foot). For me, it's aesthetically pleasing while saving me the time of extensive modelling...
