imperial cult warp entities?

Hey not sure if this topic has been covered and I just can't find anything on it.
I was wondering if there is anything on imperial warp entities? It seems possible to me that the imperial cult could bring warp entities into existence given the nature of the warp and how many humans there are across the imperium who believe.
Problems I could see are that the cult is practiced with too much variation between worlds or a much more likely one that there are no figures apart from saints and the emperor to worship. But I've never heard of worship for a nurgling so maybe that doesn't matter.
Thoughts?

one_pound_ground_round wrote:
I was wondering if there is anything on imperial warp entities? We certainly seem to have entities that emerge from the warp to aid Imperial forces, but we're not told exactly how they all came about.

But, having said that, I do agree it's a plausible theory that the sheer mass of Imperial faithful across the Imperium could well be having an impact on the warp. And, in the Sanguinor's case, one theory ist hat he's a psychic construct created by the combined psychic potential of the Chapter, which I like.

TiamatRoar wrote:
(the ones that pop from the warp or reincarnate, not the ones that are just a title granted by the ecclesiarchy, though needless to say there's some overlap)

Huh, wasn't aware of any overlap. Since in studio fluff, Celestine seems to be the only magical Living Saint, and then in works where there's other magical Living Saints, regular non-magical Living Saints are never referenced, leading me to think that the creators of that work have just assumed that "Living Saint" refers to beings like Celestine.

dementedwombat wrote:
From a first approximation analysis there is very little difference between a "Living Saint" and a "Demon Prince of the Imperium". I do not know enough fluff to directly prove or disprove that however.

One can certainly make that argument. Celestine used to be a mortal, and then became what she is currently. Sorta like a mortal follower of Chaos ascending to Daemonhood. However, the key difference is that we're not sure where Celestine's power is coming from. It might not be from her patron god, as is the case with Chaos Daemons.

A favourite theory of mine is that she's being empowered by the massive faith of the faithful themselves, hence why she's drawn to intense conflicts where the levels of faith will be at their highest.

It's implied that many of the angelic figures of Imperial legend (Living Saints, The Sanguinor, The Emperor, etc.) may be manifestations from the Warp. This would imply that there are not just daemons, but also angels in the Warp.

Unless you subscribe to the belief that they're actually just good/neutral daemons or the Emperor's will incarnate.

For me, the Sanguinor is the odd man out here. While the Legion and (I think) Celestine will show up to aid any Imperials who need help, the Sanguinor apparently only shows up for the Blood Angels. I reckon he's either something like the Legion of the Damned but for the BA specifically, or the Inquisition is right about him being some sort of psychic construct that the BA have unwittingly made.

Also, I noticed something kinda funny a while back. So we've got these three beings, post-3E Celestine, the Sanguinor and Draigo. All are legendary warriors that show up to aid their respective forces in times of need. They were also all written by the same guy. I guess he just likes that concept.

Grey Templar wrote:
Well, the Emperor is for all practical purposes a Warp entity on the same level as the Chaos gods.

Its highly probable that his worship has created manifestations of his will by giving him extra power.

I too reckon that there's a chance that all of this worship directed at the Emperor may be having an effect on him. Indeed, the Eldar have that theory about him becoming another Chaos god. It could be that humanity's worship has started him down that path, and these beings that we're discussing here are his first few Daemons.

Re:imperial cult warp entities?

Its also my long held theory that it was the Emperor's plan in the long run.

After conquering the Galaxy and eliminating all the worship of the Chaos gods. After they died out completely, he would then assume their place as a god and worship would resume.

Now that the original plan got shot to pieces, he's got no choice but to assume his place as mankind's deity and be locked in an eternal struggle with Chaos instead of wiping them out entirely.

Well, there is the Legion of the Damned, which IIRC their new "codex" rolled back the clock away from the Fire Hawks theory to them possibly/likely (what the Eldar think are usually correct) that the Legion of the Damned are daemons of the God Emperor.
