Tyranids against "Imperial Guard" or whatever they're called now! 1850 Points

Tonight, I proved that the new imperial guard are nothing more than Playthings and an "easy" food source for the Hive fleets!

I played against them, with 1850 a piece, and won!

The Mission: Scouring
The Deployment: Dawn of War

The Lists:
Imperial Guard:
Command Squad
2 Primaris Pyskers level 2
2 Priests
50 man Blob Squad with 5 Lascannon Teams
2x 1 Vendetta
Manticore
2x 2 Wyverns
Azreal
5 Scouts

Tyranids
Dakka Flyrant with Hive Commander x2
2x 1 Zoanthrope
30 Termagants
Tervigon with Shreddershard and Miasma Cannon
2x Hive Crones
27 Gargoyles
2x 3 Biovores
Mawloc

I deployed Aggressively, with the Tervigon, Termagants and Mawloc choosing to wait in reserve for the perfect moment to strike and my Biovores in a Piece of Ruined terrain in which they were all perfectly safe from any pesky barrage with a Zoanthrope supervising, whilst he deployed Defensively, and strung his 50 man blob squad with Azreal, 2 Priests and 2 Pyskers across his front line.

The Imperial Guard went first and attacked me in broad daylight!
He Procedded to take one of my Flyrants and cause 24 Wounds to my poor Gargoyles and chose to leave my Crones alone. His First Mistake.

I then took to the skies, and let my 4 remaining Gargoyles lose one to Area Terrain and proceed to do sweet FA for the rest of the game. My Tyrant, who had rolled Psychic Scream, flew straight forwards and killed a Wyvern with one of his twin linked Devourers. He then unleashed a Psyonic scream that blew the mind of a nearby Guardsmen in the blob squad and fried the brains of 4 of the 5 man command squad! The Crones released 2 of their Tentaclids each into both of the Wyvern Squads, missing with all of the shots. The Biovores

The Guard then took their revenge by keeping both Vendettas in reserve, and then unleashed a hail of firepower into my last remaining Tyrant, slaying him instantly with 5 lascannons. He failed to do any wounds to anything else however and with a Grim look upon his face, he gave me the nod to let me have my 2nd turn.

With a Grin, i summoned my 3 reserve units. The Tervigon arriving on the correct side of the board whilst her Spawn decided to take the scenic route, and come on via the opposite side of the board much to her dismay! The Mawloc took a risk to wreck a squadron of Wyverns but misshaped off the table! His sense of Travel was in such a mess that he erupted from the ground and took out The Zoanthrope babysitting the Biovores and took 5 wounds from the Biovores themselves! My Crones made a swift flight across the Wyverns, destroying all but 1 and then vomited forth a great stream of digestive juice killing the Guard Warlord!

Turn 3 saw the arrival of a Guard Vendetta and the Great Charge of 55 men! The Vendetta flew onto the field and opened fire into a Crone causing 2 Wounds. The Remaining Wyvern unleashed its deadly Mortars into the 30 Termagants who had arrived onto the field, who were unaware of the Wyverns Turret Mounted weaponry and had wrongly assumed it was Hull Mounted similar to the Manticore! And then with a Mad Roar, the Guardsmen launched themselves into the Tervigon, losing 3 of their number but making it anyway. My Tervigon braced herself and managed to win the combat by 1, but due to the mad ravings of the Priests, the guard held their ground.

The Mawloc, sensing the mass of humans on the Surface engaged in combat with the Tervgion, burrowed up from the Earth right in the middle of the large mass of bodies, causing 18 wounds on the unit, and 3 to the Dark Angels master Azreal! He then proceded to mishap and was forced to tunnel back down into the earth and appear, once more, under the biovores. However, he managed to avoid the unit causing no wounds to his spawnmates. One of the Crones savagely raked the Vendetta causing it to crash into the ground, whilst the other destroyed the last Wyvern siege tank. However the guard, seeing the destruction of their mighty engines, Attacked the Brood mother with renewed Ferocity! The Tervigon with a mighty scream, fell to the furious Guardsmen.

The Guard sensed defeat was close, so called in their last remaining Vendetta who proceeded to destroy the final Zoanthrope, removing all influence of the Hive Mind from the field.

Turn 4 for the Tyranids didn't see much action, just a relentless pounding of Spore Mines exploding around the Guardsmen Squad and The Crones firing off their final Tentaclids to hunt down the Vendetta. The Tentaclids caused enough Electronic Disturbance that the Engines failed and crashed to the Floor

The Final Turn for the Imperial Guard saw them frantically trying to bring down the Crones with the Blob Squad and Various left over Squads of Veterans, to which they failed. Horrifically.

The Tyranids, oblivious to the end of the game, flew their crones to camp on the Points of Interest on the Field. A Spot that had 4 Points worth of Biomass, and a Point worth 3! The Mawloc Dug up once more, and removed all the Guardsmen from a Point they obviously found vital enough to die for.

The End of the game saw the Tyranids with 7 Points for Objectives. Line Breaker and Slay the Warlord, plus 2 points for the Dead Vendettas>
The Guardsmen slinked away with a Measly 7 Points. 3 Points from Objectives, Linebreaker, Slay the Warlord and First blood and for slaying a brood of 27 Gargoyles.

All in all, a good game!

P.S.
The Guard list may be missing stuff
P.S.S
Wyverns are horrific as feth!
P.S.S.S
I fething love Biovores

Great read and great result! Yes, we need more Biovores now!

1 pointer is that I don't believe your opponent may place your Mawlocs on your units when they mishap. There's a big YMDC thread somewhere around here on that...

Is there a section in the rulebook I can look at to make my own judgement?

Yes. Look at the rules for Terror from the Deep... it only applies when Deep Striking. Look at the rules for the Mishap... your opponent places that model. It isn't Deep Striking, he places it. The Mawloc has already Deep Struck the first time when he Mishapped, he doesn't do it again.

Also, if your opponent argues that, then point out that he can not place the Mawloc where it would mishap again. This means it can not be placed on any model, as there is the possibility of a mishap.
