Got me thinking. It'd be pretty easy to build up a walkway/battlements around a plasma globe, and these things are all over.

What do you guys think? Would that look cool? Or be lame? Should I just buy them, or is it cheaper/easier to make one? Almost all of the ones I've found are either USB powered or plug into a wall socket. Can you convert either of those to use battery power, and how hard do you think that would be?
