				<title>Astra Militarum and Inquisition 1850 Competitive</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ I feel like this list has a ton of anti-infantry to the nines, but lacking in anti-tank.  Manticores just aren't kickin' it off for me, anymore.  Maybe some <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(695);'>SWS</span> squads in the Vendettas with Melta so that you have both a scary <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(482);'>AT</span> unit and a fast scoring unit, something else you lack.<br /> <br /> 2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(695);'>SWS</span> + Deathstrike, maybe?  Lascannons on a BS3 model also seem like a waste.  Drop down to Autocannons and go for volume for fire.  ]]></description>

That squad alone can reliably pop a tank a turn. <br /> <br /> As far as Manticores go...they seem pretty vicious to me. Each will be twin-linked every turn. That's 2 sets of D3 twin-linked s10 missiles a turn. It can definitely put the hurt on vehicles and infantry.  I think they synergism well with the Wyvern battery, allowing me to keep my artillery in the backfield and damaging everything on the table from the stat of turn one. <br /> <br /> I'm not quite sold on the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(695);'>SWS</span> with meltas, for two reasons. One, they suffer from the issue you ascribe to the Lascannons, they're BS3 which makes them unreliable. They are also unable to make a reliable early game alpha strike, on average not getting into position until turn three, which is often too late. <br /> <br /> I could be convinced to take something aside from the Manticores, and will likely test a list that replace them with Pask in either a punisher or Vanquisher. However, they do seem to work well in this list, in my opinion.]]></description>

So giving your blob splitfire/tankhunter at the same time will be impossible. <br /> <br /> Why not see if you can trim a bit to get some melta into the acolyte squads? In the codex <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(272);'>inq</span> book, the chimera still has 5 firepoints, right? ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Actually, I wonder why you are bringing in the inquisition at all. <br /> <br /> You are doing chimera/henchmen spam... While they do bring cheaper chimera's, I don't think you really NEED that in a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(682);'>AM</span> army. Same with divination psykers. You don't need inquisitors or coteaz for that. Unless you are <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(462);'>ofc</span> desperate for that seize the initiative bonus... <br /> <br />  And then go for more bodies in the form of heavy weapon teams to camp on baseline objectives? Some autocannons would be great for this list if you ask me (especially if you decided to dump some chimeras). They go really well behind the aegis defence line. You have plenty of S10/S9 already, some S7 that can benefit from your prescience would be awesome. One inquisitor could man your aegis quad gun. <br /> <br /> Just 10 veterans naked also seems like a bit of a waste. Maybe look into those guys to operate your chimeras? While the number of firepoints are down, veterans with 2 melta's and cruising in fast moving chimera's and shooting the lasgun arrays at BS3 (even after moving 12") can give you some solid grabbers for further away objectives. Or maybe some special weapons squads to fly around in vendetta's with 3 cheap sniper rifles to jump out turn 5/6? <br /> <br /> <br /> It seems you also missed the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(331);'>PCS</span>? Or did I miss it? </div></blockquote><br /> <br /> So, Coteaz and the Xenos inquisitor are there essentially to support the blob and the artillery, the weakness of the Manticores and the blob are units that can get into your face before they get the chance to bring the pain. Manticores are particularly susceptible due to their minimum range. So, the Xenos inquisitor is only five points more than a primaris psyker and provides Servo Skulls to prevent a turn one scout rush or infiltrators. Coteaz offers protection against deep strike units or other backfield threats. <br /> <br /> The Chimeras offer mobility in my list, and while I agree that vets in chimeras are awesome, I can fit three scoring acolyte squads in chimeras where I would only be able to fit one chimera vet squad. I can't put the naked vets in the chimera because I need them to house my additional inquisitor and primaris psyker and I can't buff the Manticores if they are in Chimeras (Manticores without Prescience are tough, Manticores with Prescience are devastating). The shooting on those acolyte chimeras is absolutely nothing to sneeze at either, with each getting six strength 6 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>AP</span> 4 shots every turn. <br /> <br /> Sadly, the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(331);'>PCS</span> squad doesn't do too much in this list beside camp backfield objectives. ]]></description>
