Transaction Report: Kenzokenzi

This is a bit of an odd one. I didn't lose anything on this deal, but I still want to make note of it to the forum.

APRIL 9th- Kenzokenzi and I arranged a trade: his box of SM centurions for 6 of my SM bikes. We agreed that he would ship first (and provide a tracking number) and then I would ship the same day (again, with a tracking number)

APRIL 11th- The appointed day. Kenzokenzi messages me just before noon with the following:

"Hey since the package I'm sending you is light I'm able to send it through regular mail which means I don't get a tracking number. Now you can wait to send me my package till you get this one but please please don't cheat me out of this trade. I've been tricked before. "

I'm a little baffled, but I respond that I will indeed wait for the centurions and send along the bikes when I receive them.

APRIL 16th- I have not yet received the Centurions. I message Kenzokenzi, assuring him that I have not forgotten about him and that I will ship when I received the goods. No response.

APRIL 21st- Still nothing. I message Kenzokenzi and say that I'm concerned. I ask what address he shipped the centurions to- maybe there was a small mistake. No response.

APRIL 26th- I send Kenzokenzi one last message asking him what might have happened. No response.

APRIL 28th- this transaction report.

The OP asked me about posting this and this is totally within the realm of a transaction report, since the other party said they had shipped their half of the trade.

If anyone else has had a similar experience, please post here, or Kenzokenzi please feel free to explain your side / circumstances, etc.

This is very suspicious to me too. I don't know what mailing service he used, but if it was USPS, there's no way a box of Centurions could go out as "regular mail".

Unless he didn't include the original box, it's easily a small parcel, which can definitely be assigned a tracking number. It's also worth noting that the USPS now automatically provides a tracking number for parcels now (a nice added convenience for people who ship/trade a lot).

Next time someone says they can't provide tracking info, feel free to provide that little tidbit with them. Again, this has "Red Flag" written all over it, IMHO.

Anything shipped through USPS can have a tracking number, and I'm pretty sure it's only 80 cents on top of the shipping cost... I know this because I shipped a 24"x24"x18" box full of transformers last year and they were able to do it.

Transaction Report: Kenzokenzi

Any USPS package can have delivery confirmation added to it for all of something around $.75. Even $5 shipping items I've sent out have had it automatically.

In this day and age, there is no reason to try and save the $.75 and not have some kind of tracking. If he did not want to spend that fee, the loss of proof of delivery is solely his burden to bear.

By not adding tracking, a seller or trader opens themselves up to a world of problems, including people claiming they never got an item. That is their responsibility and their risk.
