and want to get them to look a bit like this:




I have a feeling it's going to involve my bottle of Vallejo Model Colour Stone Grey Stone Grey over a VMC Leather brown base, but wondered if anyone out there had some better ideas/colour combinations.

Over this, I give a wash of brown (Devlan Mud/AP Strong Tone ink) and apply spots of a rusty red-brown (thinned Vallejo Flesh Wash - it's a very strong color, otherwise) to the still-wet brown wash, mottling the surface.
