transporting awkward vehicles?

Im trying to get some idea as to what to do here. Up until now I have been transporting my raiders, venoms, and flyers in an old show box. They haven't been painted, but now that im getting around to it, I don't want the paint getting all scratched in transport. I have my infantry in an old gw case that I've had, but it doesn't have room to place the vehicles in safely. Im not too keen on the idea of shelling out for something like.battlefoam, so does anyone have.some advice?

I made a magnetized carrying box for my DE. I got a cheap plastic bin from walmart, some plywood, and magnetic sheets. I then glued the wood onto the bottom of the bin, spray glued the magnetic sheets on top of that and put small rare earth magnets in or on the bottom of my army's bases. It's not the cheapest solution, but if you get a big enough bin, you can easily hold 2 or 3 armies in it pretty reliably.

Try lining your shoe box with foam, placing in your models , then filling the rest with more foam, packing peanuts, or bubble wrap. Should work as that is what I do with the stuff I cant fit in my Kr case.
