I haven't tried it yet but I think the brush on kind is a good idea just to put on certain areas you want shiny.

I don't mind buying GW pots but I feel like there is probably a more cost efficient version of this.

@ oadie that's pretty much what I plan on doing I like to use matte finish but was thinking about adding the glossy coat to certain areas.

@ azreal13 I don't live in the UK so IDK what you guys have but what I use is Krylon Matte finish but they also have glossy. Its light cover in my opinion. Glosses are usually pretty easy. Unlike the various issues with matte sprays (not matte enough, hazing, frosting...) gloss is normally a straight forward process. Right now, when I am after a rattle can gloss - I generally snag it at the local big box home store. I've used Krylon, Valspar, Liquitex and a few others. None of them would really cause me to say they were crap. They do what they are supposed to do with little problems.
