Secret Weapon Soft Body - Biel Tan or any white model

Hello,
I am in the process of Biel Tan and I am looking at this product as a way to speed up the painting process. I followed GWs method of layering and that just takes too much time. I stumbled across this product and, from what I am reading, it appears that I could base white, wash with this, and have minimal to no cleanup on the white due to the fact that this does not discolor the miniatures that much. I have used GW Nuln Oil and it darkens the mini just too much and then requires a lot of cleanup unless you are selective on where you apply it which leads me to the Secret Weapon Soft Body.

Does anyone have this product and can speak upon the affects it has on a white miniature?

Not sure if that is true or not.

As far as oil washes, are there any you would recommend?

I've used the Vallejo 'pale grey' wash over white before. It works quite well--you get a nice grey in the recesses. Less harsh than a black wash. So I prime white, wash with that, highlight with white, and repeat if you want deeper grey shadows.

Well, depending on how heavily you apply it, they end up a pale grey done. So that's why I then highlight over with white. But as the grey tone is not dark, after highlighting, it doesn't leave them looking grey or blotchy.

If you didn't want to highlight with white after the wash, I suppose you could remove it from the raised areas while still wet.

Have you tried army painter dark tone? Never used it on white before.

My suggestion is to put the wash you are using directly into the parts you want darkening as best you can. Then while it's still wet wiping up the exes using a cotton budd.
