So my friend is starting a tau army, lets shoot for 1k first.
He will want at least one riptide, but I am a chaos player and cannot aid him with building an army.

I'd recommend 36 or 48 fire warriors and a couple of broadsides to deal with tanks/fliers. Definitely get shield drones for the broadsides.

An Ethereal is cheap and basically a must as he makes all friendly units within 12" stubborn (they're LD7 otherwise)
