2000 pt pure Eldar Seerstar

Pondering the need for DE with some of the changes in 7th (ie: the lower need for grisly trouphies, the ability of ICs to join single models, etc). What do you think of this in an unbound Eldar list? Could even go Iyanden and try to get the star FNP.

Autarch, BM, MotLG, Fusion gun, Laser Lance, JB
Farseer x6, JB x6, SS x6, WoWarding x2, Shard (this gives you 4 extra ML/powers, 4 extra wounds VS 2 seers and 8 locks. You still have a fearless star which has stealth, shrouded, hit and run. It's even pretty much guaranteed to always go first with the BM. With that many farseers you will get both invis and fortune.)

Warlock, JB, SS (goes with windridersx6)

DA x5, serpent, SC, HF, SL
DA x5, serpent, SC, HF, SL

Windrider x6, SC x2
Windrider x3 (reserves)

CH, exarch, lances

Wraithknight, wraithcannons
==========
1998pts

Optionally, drop the lock, split the windriderx6 in half and pick up an extra 3man bike squad.

interesting, ive been thinking of a list with 9 seers and a soloautarch costing around 1500pts itself and then filling up 500pts on cheap troops.

Not sure how well it would do, looks good on paper, but on the board it is a whole different game, that said your casting is limeted to 1 try so roll well, and the lonely CH will take out a plane before it dies to a second (normally people run them in pairs).

My only opinion would be dumping the serpents/avengers for more bike units, more scoring = win.

Yeah as Arbiter says you're limited to 1 casting of each spell in 7th and due to that I'm not sure a Seerstar is really viable anymore. But this is an inventive build and attaching Seers to a Solitarch seems the best bet for it. I would personally either drop the CH and bikes for more tough units with more DAVU or another Knight. Or drop the Knight and DAVUs and get a 2nd CH Exarch and load up on bikes. Either present a front of tough units or just spam MSU and scoring so you grab as many objectives as you can.

It appears to be a more objective based game then before (finally), and thus the whole deathstar builds are becoming obsolete compared to objective secured spam.

Maybe just run 6 separate farseers? Go for shriek and maledictions as apposed to grouping and hoping for invisibility?

I will try running a bunch of seers single and then as a group and see how they work.

Best of luck!

Good points. Thanks for the input. What if I went with something like this?

Iyanden

Autarch, BM, MotLG, Fusion gun, Laser Lance, JB
Farseer x2, JB x2, SS x1, WoWarding x1, Shard on one wraithforge stone on the other
(this becomes an extremely mobile, fearless hunter/killer squad which has stealth, shrouded, and hit and run. It's even pretty much guaranteed to always go first with the BM. fish for invis/fortune. It can also split off as required. Say, for example, to guide/heal the wraithknights.)

Warlock, JB, SS (goes with windridersx6)

DA x5, serpent, SC, HF, SL
DA x5, serpent, SC, HF, SL
DA x5, serpent, SC, HF, SL

Windrider x6, SC x2
Windrider x3
Windrider x3
Windrider x3

Warp Spiders x5

Wraithknight, wraithcannons
Wraithknight, wraithcannons
==========
2000pts

(alternately, drop the lock, split the 6x windriders in half and make three 3x windriders for a total of six 3x windrider squads. Would leave me with an extra 24 points to spend too. I have enough bikes to go either way.)

The BM stands for banshee mask, which reduces their I by 5, but you still have no assault grenades so if you charge into cover chances are your hitting at same I of 1. Also with your new list it isn't a seerstar, all it becomes is farseers riding with guardian jetbikes, which while by itself isn't bad can be done better.

But if your meaning to put 2 farseers with a MotLG autarch then it becomes poorer, its bad at CC as the farseers don't add much and they are still restricted to casting 1 of each power.

I would either stick to the first list, or try running 6 jetbike units each with warlock and farseer, giving you pretty good shooting, and psychic powers galore.
