I made the mistake of buying some Tamiya paints (for normal brush work, not airbrushing) and I can't deal with the super-fast drying time. I considered picking up a bottle of retarder, but at the end of the day it might just make more sense to switch back to the Citadel products I'm already comfortable using.

However, I've already basecoated one of the models I'm working on with the Tamiya. If worse comes to worse I can strip it, but I'd rather just transition into Citadel colours. If it's acrylics, they'll work fine. You have to be a tiny bit careful painting Tamiya over another acrylic because it's alcohol based and will soften the underlying paint. Not a huge problem if your'e careful, but something of which to be aware.
