Inquistor triligies question that always bothered me.

If Eisenhorn and Ravenor were of the Ordos Xenos. Why did they spend pretty much the whole triligy hunting down a heretic. Pontius Glaw and whatever Ravenor's heretic's name was. I can't recall off the top of my hea.d

Long time since i read the books. But I have always pictured the Ordos and varius kabals of inquisitors to be extremely flexible and they follow what ever hints and clues they find.

Didn't Eisenhorn start out searching for xeno-tech or hunted somebody that did?

I really need to re-read them. =)

And much of Ravenor's story focuses around him chasing Zygmunt Molotoch, who was trying to assemble an ancient power source/weapon with alien origins. (I'm being vague so as not to ruin it for everyone else, in case people hadn't read it) Really, Ravenor and Eisenhorn both are chasing down heretics who are trafficking in Chaos-tainted xenos goods. That's the Inquisitorial hat trick, right there.

The impression I got from Abnett's work was that the mandate of the various Ordos were more of guidelines than they were hard-and-fast jurisdictions.

Re:Inquistor triligies question that always bothered me.

Also remember that despite specialization the Ordos imply there is no real formal structure or 'rules/laws' that Inquisitors follow, except what they decide to pursue and what other Inquisitors (or other factions of the Imperium) may assist or oppose them in, and it doesnt' tie them down or force them into any one specific ruling (the 6th edition mentions an Ordo as a interest/field of study less than a job) and even then a threat is a threat and Inquisitors are not exaclty super-numerous, so it is not impossible to have someone from the Xenos dealing with a Chaos or heretic threat (especially if they are of a philosophy like the Amalathians, or Monodominant.)

Letting a spoor go cold when you could carefully monitor it for the right specialist could be seen as dereliction of duty, heresy!
