Serpents should have tl scatterlaser, underslung shuricannon, and holofield. Nothing else.
Warwalkers are better equipped with dual scatterlasers. More bang for the bucks.

If you can make Storm Gaurdians work then more power to you. I find that flamers and close combat weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side.... uh I mean no match to guardian defenders with catapults. If you give each of the warlocks in the Wave Serpents a spear with 10 Guardian Defenders you'll find there's almost nothing they can't at least hurt if not kill.

Don't rely on pinning. It's a neat trick to throw out but don't expect it to do much and be happy when it does work.

Also, if you want to remain within Ulthwe fluff but add a little more power to your heavy support, try out Dark Reapers and fully upgrade them.
