The thing about the bundles is that they are only a savings over buying ALL of the items separately. If, for example, you already have a pile of plastic bolters, and you don't need the characters or the command bits, then it is cheaper to just buy the base models themselves. But if you do need the era-specific bolters, upgrade bits, characters, etc., then the bundles are a good deal.
