Background
The _______ are a second-founding chapter from the Raven Guard. They can trace their lineage back to the Chief Apothecary Vincente Sixx who was in charge of implementing the Primarch program to re-build the chapter after the Massacre at Istvaan V. After the treachery was discovered, and the mutated Raven Guard were revealed Vincente Sixx was outraged over the actions that took place. He took it personally that members of the Alpha Legion were able to infiltrate their chapter. This added insult to injury aftter so called “loyalists” slaughtered them on Istvaan V.

When the codex came down and the chapter was ordered to disperse, Vincente Sixx requested that he take a majority of the mutated marines and begin his own chapter where he could seek a cure for them. In order to secure his work and prevent further infiltrations and traitors actions, he implemented security and scrutiny as his number one priority. Through the years, the geneseed was refined and he was able to minimize much of the mutatations. However, the rage of Khorne was still present in some.

Sixx’s paranoia regarding traitors grew so intrinsic that for years the chapter lay hidden and dormant. They abandoned Deliverance and constructed an all black fleet to move in secret throughout the galaxy. They would keep their ears to the distress calls and appear at battles without communicating their presence or plans to assist. They would even refuse to respond to hails from other chapters and were known to keep complete vox silence during combat. When Vincente Sixx was finally killed in battle against a Word Bearers incursion, a battle-hardened Captain took up the title of Chapter Master and continued in his place. Chapter Master Sigulari continued the teachings of Vincente Sixx, but instead of simply hiding and waiting to fight, he planned to seek out and interrogate those who succumbed to the traitouros ways. In addition, he increased the number of chaplains within the chapter and frequented the Ecclesiarch of Terra for continued teachings in the blessing of the Emperor. For he felt that the best defense against infiltration, was absolute faith in the Emperor. It was there that Sigulari encountered an Inquisitor of the Ordo Hereticus. Sigulari was all too willing to submit his entire chapter to investigation. From this point on, the Ordo Hereticus and the _________ became close allies. It was here that Sigulari grew to distrust the psykers.

In the coming centuries the _________ was used as the chapter of choice when a loyalist chapter refused orders from terra and was charged with treason. Additionally if a loyalist militia or Imperial Guard regiment appeared to succumb to chaos or betray the empire, they would be the first to respond, that is even if they weren’t the chapter to begin the accusation in the first place.

Gene-seed Mutation
Similar to the Raven Guard chapter, the _______ gene-seed gives the marines pale white skin with pitch black hair. Additionally, the refined mutation from the Alpha Legion treachery has left some, very few with a blood-rage, turning their skin and eyes bright red. To hide this mutation in battle, they would don masks of the emperor.

Tactics
Similar to Raven Guard tactics, the ______ prefer lightning fast strikes with hit-and-run tactics. However, because their founding master was an Apothecary and they hold strong that a loyal member is more valuable than anything else, they often employ Dreadnoughts in to their fighting. These dreadnought are drop-podded in to the fray to begin the fight, and are often the first sight the enemy has of the chapter’s presence.
their primary target is usually the enemy psyker, for they are usually the ones who are responsible for the traitorous actions in the first place, and some have been known to control those who were deemed loyal.

The only reason I am hesitant is that it is a bit too literal for them. Because it is exactly what they do. Whereas something like the Emperors Shadow invokes a more abstract concept. They are loyal to the emperor and follow him through anything, but are also his darker side: Killing those who claim to follow him but are not in the right.

But I may end up going with Confessors anyway. Still sounds pretty cool and it really does tie them to their mission. Also, in their force they will never fight without a Chaplain present.

So if I were to make this it's own force with its own CT, chaplain would be a mandatory, but would not take up a FOC slot.
