They spend a crazy amount of money and time just photographing burgers. It would nt surprise me if every little thing McDonalds does is done in the most thought out way possible to be efficient and more importantly money making.

There was a stretch of several years where the only winners of the major prizes were in the same three states. When word got out about what had happened, McD's pulled the game out of rotation (it was an annual event for a long time). It's only in the last few years that they've brought it back, presumably with a different company making the game pieces...
