I'm really happy to join your ranks. I always wanted a community that understand and discuss about this hobby.
I am simply a model painter that wants to share and help others, I still have a lot to learn and practice but I am more eager become a better modeler/painter.
I'm also very interested in the wargaming world, but I'm a thrifty person and really scared of wasting money on an army I never played.
I know, wargames like Warhammer, you paint more than you play. But I find them really expensive compared on busts or figure models I usually buy and I don't know where to play.

Anyway, I'm from Canada. I used to be lumberjack but I took a puck to the knee.
No, seriously I'm not a lumberjack but I do play hockey in some local amateur leagues. I love poutine and I terribly hate alcohol beverage.
I'm not really special compared to other guys in this forum but I needed to talk a little bit of myself.

Start by finding something you like to paint. That way even if you don't ever play with them it's not a waste of money. That's what I have done with samurai. I then found some rules to go with an I am slowly painting may way through models I like.

If you go for a smaller skirmish game you are less likley to spend as much as you will need far fewer models. You can always go onto something mass battle sized later if you are sure you are into it.
