Do you have the fluff bits from the original Space Hulk Game? They are quite good and on point.

And the current codex only talks about Ichar IV being a "Genestealer infestation." :( Missed opportunity there. I've heard -- although this could be very wrong -- that Alan Merritt, the fluff caretaker at GW, isn't a fan of Genestealer Cults.

It's not because of the Genestealers being that lethal, it's because Space Hulks themselves are dangerous and TDA offers the best resistance against radiation. Honestly though, Genestealers are the cliche enemy for any form of derelict these days. I think it would be more entertaining to see them take a more active part in assaults, much like in the first Leviathan Rising book. The real thing though that has to be considered is the strain. We had lit the forest they were hiding in on fire in order to drive them towards our position and were having a pretty fun time mowing them down as they ran through our killzone. It was fun right up to the moment where we couldn't kill enough of them, they broke through our barricade, and eviscerated our assault marine in one round of combat. There was a damn good chance they would've killed more of us, but at that moment we managed to inflict enough points of magnitude damage to eliminate the horde.
