CHEW comic actually pretty good

So i picked up the first Omnivore volume from the library. Figured hey, why not, it's free, and it looks zany. Sure, lets get it.

It is actually a really good comic. For those unaware, it is called CHEW by John Layman and Rob Guillory and focuses on detective Tony Chu, a Cibopath, who can psychic impressions from whatever he eats. He's currently working for the FDA's Special Crimes Division. In a world where chicken is outlawed, anything can happen.

It's a wonderful series, with great character development, stroytelling, dialogue, and intriguing characters. There's only going to 60 issues, and I believed they just wrapped up Volume 8, which ended with issue #40. There's 4 volumes planned for 2015 and 2016, wrapping up the last 20 issues.

For anyone looking for a new story, I highly recommend it. It's zany, cleverly written, has all sorts of subplot, and is just generally one of the better comics I've read in the last few years.
