The only question i have, which may sway whether i take one instead of an exalted hero, is can a wargor take gnarled hide if he has a magic banner?

In the beastmen book on page 92 the first sentance is "on the following pages are the magic items available to BEASTMEN armies"

Beastmen as part of legions of chaos armies are not able to bring those items, its not a beastmen army. The common magic items may be taken but are taken at the points values written in the brb not the beastmen book.

The army books clearly state they belong to a specific army none of them are chaos legions.
