Last dance of the cupcakes 1850 TSHFT prep tournament

This weekend there is a one day tournament at my FLGS as a prep for TSHFT that is coming up in January. (The Seattle Hearts of Fire Tournament.)

I have always favored drop in surprise style tyranids, and with the release of the new codex and subsequent loss of mycetic spores. I was a sad little lictor. However, the new re-release of the spore/tyrannocyte, has allowed me to bring out the cupcakes of doom once more. The cupcakes of doom being the mycetic spores that I made because there was no proper model previously. Well they get one more chance to ride with the new tyrannocyte rules, before I replace them with a more appropriate model to match the new guys.

As to my list:

HQ
Flyrant, 2x dakka, ESG 240
Flyrant, 2x dakka, ESG 240

Troops:
Devilgaunts (10) devourers 80
Genestealers (5) TS 85

Elite:
Hive guard (3) Shock cannons 170
Zoanthrope (1) .............................50
Malanthrope (1).............................85

Heavy:
Carnifex, 2x dakka......................150
Tyrannofex, acid spray, ESG....185
Biovores (3). ...............................120

Tyrannocytes (5)........................375
Imperial bunker, comms relay 70

Opponents should range from necrons with a gauss pylon, chaos with a lord of skulls, orks, and a couple more chaos players.

Pre-tourney thoughts:

Spoiler:

I am really looking forward to the chance to try out these tyrannocytes. I had been prepping the army with the death leaper assassin squad and a couple of additional non-deep striking units. I was really worried about the ability to deal with both super heavy and regular heavy tanks. Especially if there was more then one. Now with the spores I can drop in haywire hive guard, and a tyrannofe with haywire. Suddenly I have the potential to throw six glances on any one target pretty reliably. No longer outflanking a unit and having it arrive in the wrong spot has also bright back devilgaunts. Finally the flexability to change what the spores contain depending on my opponent allows me more tactical options. Lots of tanks, the zoat goes in the last spore lots of troops, the malanthrope goes in instead providing more cover for the deep strikers. I don't think here is a situation where I would leave something else out for both synapses to arrive.

The largest weakness I believe is the units starting on the table. The bunker along with the malanthrope gives the biovores on top a 2+ cover and should be a very tough nut to crack before my army arrives. Hmmm. Can the malanthrope cover give the bunker a 5+ cover save? Intervening terrain likely will as it is much more compact then a bastion. I am looking forward to seeing what happens.
