Deepstriking Flower formation.

Place the rest of the models!
- Models must be in base contact,
forming a circle around the first.!
- Once the circle is complete, start
another.!
- Each circle must include as many
models as will fit.

Soooh one of our guys (CSM) is trying to deepstrike his three termis in a line.
Wich is when i point out the flower power formation you have to do when deepstriking

sooh fig1. leagal? yay/nay - exsplain please.

As we see it, you have to TRY and make the circle , as fig 2 shows.Mostly due to the wording of the rules.
And i use the argument that your trying to make a circle.. how to draw a circle.

I've always played as Fig1 is legal since the only actual requirement is that the red models are in base to base with the green models (as per your figures).

There is no requirement for each model to touch the model next to them, just to be in contact with the first model.

So yes, the line formation is legal.

Perfectly legal. If you had enough models to require a full circle, then you must make the full circle. Otherwise, all rules have been followed in both figures.

Fig 1 is in base contact with the initial model, and forms as much of a circle as 3 figures could possibly form.

Well it only says you need to try and make a circle around the first. How you do that on the other hand, seems to be entirely up do you.

As above, there is no requirement to fill the first ring "in order". You just can't start the next ring until the first ring is complete.

The line of three models is legal. If he added a fourth mode, it would need to be in base to base with the initial "green" model. You can only make a line by deepstriking with three models.

Either way you're not ending up with a full circle, just part /parts of it. The ink that you had is still part of the circle you are trying to form.
EDIT: Again, this analogy would only work if you couldn't lift your pen, and since there is nothing that can be considered such a condition, it's a moot point.
