Iridescent effect for horror

Now, for those who don't know, 1 unit of a pink horror group can be upgraded to a iridescent horror. Most people that I've seen paint these green, however, I want to go the extra mile and create an actual iridescent effect. For those who don't know what it looks like:

https://www.google.com/search?q=iridescent&safe=off&es_sm=119&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=MkxwVPClIISBigL9kIG4Cw&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1440&bih=779#imgdii=_

Now, I want the actual effect similar to what you would see on a glass orb, even if it means 10x the work, but if it isn't possible on a model, let me know some other way I could make this.

Iridescent effect for horror

I've done an iridescent effect like that but only with puddles/pools to look like spilt petrol. Its a case of gold, silver, orange, blue and purple glazes layered between and swirled into coats of gloss varnish.
Not sure how it could/would work on a whole model though?
Recasting the model in clear resin could be the best place to start if you want it to look more ethereal like the bubbles in your link.

Re:Iridescent effect for horror

You could try experimenting with actual iridescent medium. It's a clear medium with flakes in it that kind of produces a color-changing effect when painted on a surface if I'm not mistaken. Haven't really used it myself but Kris from MWG did a quick video using some on a jetbike canopy here.

Well I guess it doesn't really change the color much, just provides a little shimmer from what I can tell. Unless you bought iridescent paint you'd have to probably blend colors together yourself like in the video, then layer the medium over it for added effect.

Here's quick snap or 4 as an example of one of my puddles.

Hans cares not for Health and Safety in the workplace.

I think if you painted over black or very dark green/blue with a nnm style using these colours you may be able to get something that looked okay?
The colours would have to be very thinly mixed with a very bright silver or even Vallejo Metallic Medium.
I'd like to see how you got on!
