Re:It's Nurgle time - Fat John Boys!

Nice work man! Really love the gory open bowls with the blood strings and blood dripping all over!

I have a few small suggestions for you to consider:

1) try (buying and) adding some rust pigments (from Forge world or any other respected painting manufacturer) and add some real rusty effects to your rust wash in small patches (the rust wash you've done is an awesome start for applying the pigment rust). Apply rust pigments with an old brush and some mat medium to make it bond to the figure. Only select some small parts to enhance the rust effects of. Then you could also apply some dry pigments by dry brushing them on softly. And don't forget to seal all that rust off with a few thin coats of mat varnish (preferably the spray can versions or if you have an airbrush that will be even better).

2) Take a hard sturdy thin haired brush and dip it into the blood solution. Then use a sturdy card (preferably plastic) or use your own fingers to push back the bristles and release them to apply some small splatters around the edge of the weapons where the blade has struck the nek or limb of its victim or where the blood has splattered or dripped on the ground. This will increase the realism of the blood effects even more. Because if you chop some ones head or arm of it will not leave that clean mark of blood. The blood will splatter everywhere.

3) I would also consider to apply some more darker washes to increase the contrast for the entire models. (for example in the holes in the armor and where the skin has deeper crevasses seem a little dull.) Also use the washes to darken some area's on the armor or skin because it seems to look to plain. What also helps to bring out the entire models even more is to make sure the bottom half of you figures are darker than the faces or top half's because this directs the attention more to the faces which by nature is the first thing people tend to do when they are seeing a new beast, monster, human, elf, whatever. They want to locate its face. This trick helps the viewer.

Looking forward to see your next models!
