Would the Emperor approve of the Imperium in the 41st Millennium?

Would/does the Emperor approve of the Imperium in the 41st Millennium?

Being half-dead on the Golden Throne, he can't take an active role in deciding the direction of the Imperium. With that in mind, do you think he knows the direction the Imperium of Man has taken? Do you think he approves, or would approve if he knew?

1 example: He was very much against being viewed as a God, and quashed all suggestion of it (even from his own sons - the Word Bearers), but nowadays with the Church of the Emperor, crazy saints running about, sisters of battle bringing down zealous fury on un-believers, the Emperor from the 31st Millennium would be pretty upset at such nonsense!

Would the Emperor approve of the Imperium in the 41st Millennium?

Correct me if I'm wrong, and I might well be, but wasn't this the Emperors plan? If I'm not mistaken what I've garnered from the HH series so far has led me to believe that this is true. Here is why.

The emperor didn't know about chaos right away, he had an idea of what lay in the warp but no real evidence. So he plans to unite all mankind under this "age of reason" but then he learns of chaos. There goes that plan! So instead he allows this deification to occur knowing that humanity still needs their gods, if they're going to worship something it might as well be him right? I think it is against his wishes, but in the face of chaos, he has no choice. Also I think that he knew if mankind were to survive it would only be as this faceless regime. In the 40k universe there is no other way for humanity, and I think he emperor knew this. Does he approve? Probably not. Does he allow it to continue, knowing this is the only way? Hell yeah!

Now gimme all your psykers souls!

No. he would see it as a perversion of his original idea and would also see that his government is what is holding mankind back from the existence he wanted for humanity.

Re:Would the Emperor approve of the Imperium in the 41st Millennium?

My understanding is that the Imperium is the exact opposite of what he wanted.

Logic and reason have been lost to a new religion based on him which he didn't want. Science has given way to superstition. Even machines are said to have spirits. Corruption reaches all levels from local governing bodies to possibly even the High Lords. During the time when the Emperor still lived the alien Laer were considered for protectorate status. Now it's kill xenos on sight.

Would the Emperor approve of the Imperium in the 41st Millennium?

... or which he did want and set about constructing. Given the rampant use of psychic abilities, not to mention the explosion of Warp energy with the birth of Slaanesh and the release of the most sophisticated hacking tools known to the galaxy during the war with the Men of Iron, and the daemonic code released during the Heresy, it is quite possible, even likely, that there *are* spirits in the machines... at the very least some AI code base present in just about anything more complex than a toaster.

The Emperor also didn't like Xenos. At all. His view was that it was Mankind's manifest destiny to rule the stars unopposed. Any Xeno that could prove itself a useful slave to Humanity might have been spared... but only so long as they remained useful. The Emperor did not like competition.
