I like the mix of more typical "chunky gothic" forms and smooth, round, vertical elements. It's a very different feel, but the painting ties it all together nicely.

My only quibble is about the finish on those pillar-type pieces. If there was one rule of re-purposing common/household objects, I would say it's "don't let them be recognizeable." The more common and complete the original item, the more it needs to be masked and/or modified (at least, in my opinion). I can see the shallow spiral seam running up those cyclinders, meaning I can't 'unsee' the fact that they're cardboard tubes.

It's a bit more work (and mess) to cut and you have to pay for it (although not all that much), but you may want to try subbing in PVC pipe, in the future (assuming you have access to a hardware store/builders merchant). Being both stronger and smoother than cardboard tubes, I find it terribly handy stuff.
