Don't know if this made any difference but it's worth remembering.

Where do you see under the consolidation rule in the BRB that says you cannot consolidate after destroying a vehicle? I understand if you failed to destroy it, you would sit still because a unit was not destroyed, falling back, or out of the pile-in range.
