Chapter Master>Captain>Sergeant>Brother>Initiate.

Chaplains and Librarians have their own rank system.

Master of Sanctity>Reclusiarch>Chaplain

Chief Librarian>Epistolary>Codicier>Lexicanum


Librarians and Chaplains will defer command to Captains and experienced Sergeants, only taking full command if there are none better suited due to their role as advisers.

Chaplains are also > Librarians of equivalent rank in the command structure of the Chapter.

Experience and age are also taken into consideration if a question of command ever emerges. My thoughts on it.

Marines of equal rank call each other: Brother, Brother Namus, Namus.
When addressing a superior it is Brother Sergeant, Sergeant Namus.
When addressing an inferior it's Brother Namus, Brother Sergeant, Sergeant Namus. Or just Namus for a basic marine.


The difference between Brother Sergeant and Sergeant Namus would be situational. Brother is less formal, rank included is more formal.
