If things went stale a while ago you might have already made you split, and come to terms with life without her before now.

And it’s also possible that there’s not a lot of emotion in the break up because there wasn’t a lot of emotion in the relationship in the first place. That doesn’t mean it was a bad relationship, but lots of times the love chemicals in the brain don’t fire, and so when the relationship ends there’s no withdrawal.

There could also be a delayed reaction, you might end up feeling pretty crappy at some time in the near future, as you start to realise what you’ve lost.
