[1850] - Mono Harlequins

As the title states this is suppose an attempt at a mono list that also has a lot of stuff on the board with points evenly spread out per unit.

1850
Masque detachment
Troop
2 x 6 player troupe w/ 1 embrace and caress on troupe master in star weaver

1 x 5 player troupe w/ same load put as other two in star weaver

Fast attack
2 x 2 player jet bikes stock

Elite
Solitaire

heavy
Void weaver

Formation detachment
serpent's brood

1 void weaver
2X 2 player skyweaver bikes stock
3 x 6 player Harlequins w/ 2 x embrace and troupe master with caress in star weaver

The army is 1850 on the dot. I have thought on dropping a few embraces from the Masque deta Chen t of or prismatic cannon upgrades on for the void weaver. Sorry if I have some typos as this was done on a touchscreen.

Re:[1850] - Mono Harlequins

Personally I find the shadowseers and deathjesters to be both the most competitive and fun aspects of harlequins, so I would recommend getting some in there.

Shadowseers have access to telepathy which lets them use psychic shriek (good out of transports and especially with the mask of secrets), plus potential invisibility, hallucination grenades let them pin the opponent, denying them their overwatch, and their 5 fleshbane overwatch attacks on the charge is nothing to laugh at. More haywire grenades is always nice too.

Deathjesters are useful for dragging the opponent's units towards you, displacing heavy weapon teams, or simply running them off the board. Wiping out fleeing opponents with a successful charge is also a possibility.

I see what you mean with them, as i have very much thought on using 3 of both. My only gripe is having the death jester running solo or putting him and the seer in with a troupe butthen they gotta walk it.

Also, i very much like the blessing/mal that shadowseer can get to use, but they almost become null ( except really for fog) once the troupes are up close and personal. Psychic powers are also good but I feel using em purely for psychic shriek is a bit of a loss. Honestly, having them in there change the core dynamic of the army tremendously.

As for haywire grnades, the bigger pro is that they can be tossed in shooting phase over caress ( will not be throwing a glove ofncourse lol). Though when it comes to close combat shredding, i feel, though not always, that a caress can outdo the haywire grenade in assaulting a vehicle. Granted it is simply a potential to.

The biggest thing with this list is being able to shoot 90+ 6 (aft shots) str 6 shots to start all on twelve inh moving platforms. While also having 35 troupe players, though how long they last I cannot really tell until I play the army.

For the extra shooting attack the haywire is better.

I'm planning on taking a shadowseer with my troupes and they will have the haywire, meaning a caress has more value for my troupe leaders.

You could always consider dropping the serpent's brood formation, and use similar models as a harlequin detachment. This would let you swap out some bikes for undedicated transports which your DJ's could ride in.

[1850] - Mono Harlequins

Personally I'd run this as 2 Serpent Broods. You lose the Solitaire but then you could take him in a Path of Heroes to get (it may cost you all your gear though which you might consider a cost too much). It would give you the heroes in a way that doesn't disrupt the way your army functions as they are forced to go solo but gain stealth and shrouded which really helps that function. Or just gear up the Troupe units a little more (and or buff the Skyweavers who I find to be surprisingly effective).

[1850] - Mono Harlequins

I had not considered taking two formations of serpents brood. Admittedly dropping the solitaire feels like a big slap because of how much pf versatile monster he is, and yeah losing effectiveness of the troupes is a cost to high for me for the oath of heros.

- Arbiter, yeah it is something I noticed when I was making the list is that going first might be more crtitical then I would like so I would be rolling on the light table more often then nt for fingers crossed on getting the intiative stealing bonus.

Considering the double serpent brood, what could ebe an ideal way of bumping up the bikes?

With the freed points I am looking at bumping up the haywire cannons to prismatic cannons and getting some more embraces in the squads, but im lost on what to do with the bikes.

Are zephyr glaives truely worth the upgrade? What about hauwire cannons? Yes the cannons offer decent anti horde and shred av 13/14 but lose out on potential pseaduo AA (yhrough weight of s6 shots).
