Been a bad week for cult/niche actors

.. so it's been a bad week if you're one of those actors who you kinda recognise as whatshisnamefromthatthingyeah?

James Best has passed away

http://www.epictimes.com/2015/04/james-best-the-dukes-of-hazzard-sheriff-dead-at-88/

who possibly will be largely unknown to many folks here but if you were old enough to watch the crazy antics of those Duke boys then...

We also lost Tom Towles

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Towles

He appeared in film and television extensively beginning in the 1980s. He was probably best known for his turn in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer as a character modeled after Ottis Toole, Henry Lee Lucas' reputed accomplice in several murders.[2] He has also appeared in Night of the Living Dead, Fortress, Mad Dog and Glory, Blood in Blood Out, House of 1000 Corpses, and its sequel, The Devil's Rejects. He portrayed a drug trafficking gang leader in the big screen adaptation of Miami Vice and had a cameo in one of the faux trailers Werewolf Women of the SS in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse.

Towles' television credits included appearances in NYPD Blue, L.A. Law, ER, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (in the episode "Dramatis Personae"), Star Trek: Voyager, Seinfeld and Firefly.

Robert Z'dar has also gone

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Z%27Dar

I'll grant you he's probably the least well known here but maniac Cop ( and the inevitable sequels) were .. well.. perhaps not big but cult most assuredly.

And last but not least..

http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3339293/r-p-geoffrey-lewis-passes-away-age-79/

Geoffrey Lewis has gone as well

It’s been reported by Variety that actor Geoffrey Lewis, father of Juliette Lewis, has passed away at age 79 of natural causes.

Lewis played Roy Sullivan in The Devil’s Rejects, Mike Ryerson in Salem’s Lot, and Terry McKean in The Lawnmower Man. He also appeared in an episode of The X-Files and was also in Triology Of Terror II. This is but a scratch on the surface of Lewis’ roles in a career that spanned over six decades, which also included several films from Clint Eastwood.

probably recognise the face, he had after all a fairly extensive body of work in both TV and film.

.....

.. getting old I guess right ?
