				<title>Ravenwing grenade launcher, any good?</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ I was about to build 2 more ravenwing black knights (the third bike I used on a librarian), and plan on using them as part of a command squad.  I plan on doing one as an apothecary, then was considering giving one a standard even if I don't count it as anything for games.  (on a side note, are any of the standards worth taking?)<br /> <br /> I noticed that the sprue has the grenade parts but had never built one, and was wondering if it'd be worth it giving the flag one the grenade launcher.  Are there many scenarios that the grenade is better than the plasma, outside of slightly better range?  Do stasis or rad grenades ever make a huge difference in the game?<br /> <br /> Just to clarify, this will be a ravenwing command squad, 3 standard bikes, one apothecary, one with a standard, and a librarian on a bike with a force axe.  So, grenade launcher or not on the standard bearer?]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I think they're good!  The problem is they compete with plasma talons, which are REALLY good...<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(72);'>IMO</span>, having one or two spread around in your command/black knight squads is effective at helping other units be more effective.  Those rad grenades can make a huge difference to getting more wounds with bolters, for example.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I tend to try and tailor my units to a specific function, and more often than not, when I take an extra weapon here and there for tactical flexibility I find that my points would have been spent better sticking to a particular theme for the unit. The plasma talons are really good and you'll get more out of them since the rad and stasis grenades have to be fired at 12" range, a lot closer than you'd normally even really bother getting to a unit.<br /> <br /> I feel like the grenade launcher gives you more tactical options, sort of like a missile launcher does really, it's just that range for 2 of your shells seems annoyingly close for making the most out of those options. So in the end, I'd rather my unit just have another plasma talon roll and not have to think about it.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ They are good when used right. For instance, a common Deathstar unit (Libby on Bike, Knights, and Samael or Chaplain) uses the Grenade Launcher before assault. The Rad Grad reduces toughness by 1, so your guys are wounding on 3's, sometimes 2s for T4 units.<br /> <br /> Outside of lowering T and assaulting, I don't really see them having more use than plasma talons.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Thinking about it, the only times the stasis and rad are good is if you're planning to charge, right?  And you'd be losing possibly two plasma shots for it though...  I just don't know.  Maybe against a unit that has a 3++ and you reduce their initiative to hit first?  Or against a riptide with its 3++ up, use a rad grenade before you charge?<br /> <br /> Honestly, just for coolness factor might do it.]]></description>

You doubletap the Talons at 9".<br /> So getting in range has it's advantages... especially if you can "hide" your squad during the enemy shooting phase and then hit and run away.<br /> The big benefit I see is <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(269);'>ID</span>'ing T4 models with the Talons. Multiwound models and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(265);'>FNP</span>? Nope.]]></description>

If you could take it on regular bikes I'd be all on top of it.]]></description>
