				<title>Combining Units and point costs?</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ If i was to homebrew units by kit bashing 2 different armies like ork and tyrannid like orks looting a hive tyrant, do I simply add the cost of an ork and the hive tyrant? Do I get to combine the best stats over the worst stats of the two? Ork and sentinel? <br /> <br /> Can I do things like put a squad of Slaanesh Marine on an Dark Eldar raider transport or put dark eldar warriors into drop pods? Or Orks looting a Ghost Ark because they both use a k instead of c? <br /> <br /> Can I have cultists on eldar jet bikes by using the cost of a cultist and the cost of an (eldar rider-eldar guardian)? <br /> <br /> If I combine a deamon prince with an Imperial knight, does it become a Traitor IK lancer? a 475pt model?<br /> <br /> Can I put wings from a storm talon onto a dreadnaught a la Macross, can it have 3 modes of movement like flying zoom, hover, and walker? 230pts model?<br /> <br /> If I modeled 2 rhinos together like a limo and rip the top hatch off, can i call it a Rhino Advancer and classify it as a transport of 20 men and open topped for 70pts?<br /> <br /> These all are for home brew and I want to know what would be fair so that when I ask my opponent, he would not think its <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(280);'>op</span> and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(323);'>waac</span> and not want to help me test it. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ No, you have to compare the new stat line to other units and their effect on the game.<br /> <br /> A Dark Eldar Transport is worth more to Space Marines than it is to Dark Eldar, since Space Marines would love a cheep Open Topped Transport.<br /> <br /> You also can't just give Orks a Riptide, because then they wouldn't be lacking in long ranged shooting anymore.<br /> <br /> Also keep in mind that several <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span> units, like Knights, are undercosted as is. Other units are bolstering a poorly written Codex filled with underpowered models, *cough* Hive Tyrants *Cough*.<br /> <br /> You can't just cherry pick other units from  the other Armies and slap a new paint job on them without even having to pay an Allies Tax. <br /> <br /> The best homebrews are units that fill a much needed role in your army without subtracting from its flavor, or patching one of their intentional weaknesses. <br /> <br /> Flying also is very powerful, units shouldn't just get to become Flyers.]]></description>

				<title>Combining Units and point costs?</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ It is probably easier within a codex than across codexes, but I have a little experience with My Hormagaunt/Gargoyle mix.<br /> <br /> Back with the 5thed Dex, Gargoyles were the same as Termigants but plus 5pts (maybe?) for all the wings/venom stuff. I just added 5pts to Hormies for all the same benefits and made Gargoyles with scything talons. They lost the bounding leap things, but whatever.<br /> <br /> Like i said, across codex stuff with probably be too messy, but it can be really easy to mix within a codex if you try and find out roughly what the differences are worth.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Well homebrewing in that sense is completely free of restrictions. Your essentially just making up units/rules or if you make a whole army your basically making a fan dex. There are no hard rules how to do this. It's basically down to whatever you and the people that would play against that feel comfortable with.<br /> <br /> You could try to look for similar units first. the raider for marines isn't all that different from a forgeworld storm eagle. As far as I remember that's 20 slots and is also an assault vehicle. It's better armed and armoured though, but not a dedicated vehicle...I think. so shave a few points off of that and your pretty close I guess.<br /> <br /> Of course that's not considering any options.]]></description>
