A couple points values are wrong here:
- 10 Guardians with a scatter laser is 105 points
- Serpent with TL bright lances is 115

I'd suggest trying to fill out one of the formations in the new dex, as they are very strong. There are so many directions you could go, and which way you choose is up to you.

- Jetbikes are strong, so filling out a windrider host might not be a bad idea, if you're into that playstyle.
- Aspect Host formations are also strong. Warp Spiders and Swooping hawks are exceptional in this codex, especially when they are BS5 from the formation. Them, along with the Fire Dragons you already have would be very good. It would also make the Fire Dragons' Serpent BS5.
- 5 Walking d-scythe wraithguard won't often make it to their intended target. Even 5 wraithcannon wraithguard won't often make it. I'd highly suggest getting another wave serpent for these guys, or beefing the squad to 10 wraithcannons and giving them a spiritseer in hopes that some of them will make it across the table.
- If you want to focus more on the guardian advance up the centre you could pick up a ton more guardians and throw an Avatar or two in the list to buff them. Grab some warlocks to put in the guardian units for support if you choose this route.
- A single Fire prism isn't often the best nowadays thanks to jinking. picking up another one or two would give you some redundancy. I personally prefer night spinners with spirit stones and holo fields (costs the same as a naked fire prism), but the choice is yours.

Definitely get a wave serpent for your wraithguard.

A Wraithknight is really good and worth it's points in gold. With the WK on the table, you can drop the Fire Prism if you are tight on points. Fire prism is very meta dependant, if you are fighting a lot of vehicles or MC, then it's really lackluster. Anything that can field 2 bright lances will do a better job.

As Bojazz says, take a look at the formations, and see what appeals to you. Since you already have firedragons take a look at the aspect host option that Bojazz mentions above. I would also include that Dark Reapers are an interesting choice for the aspect host as well, especially if you don't have any anti-air.

I don't think the scorpions are all that great, but if you think the model are cool then get them anyway. It's ok to not play just the crazy OP units.

Warp Spiders are great, they can be super annoying for the opponent to deal with, and are an awsome counter against MC.

Reapers have some great versatility. A unit of 5 with exarch fires 6 S8 shots at BS5/6 in an Aspect Host, reroll to hit against flyers (so even if they snap shot they can reroll) and they get no 4+ jink save. You can spend 12 points extra and take EML rather than Starshot missiles on your Exarch. This still gives you the 2 starshot missiles, but you also get a 2 shot blast at AP4 (great against everything not marines), or 2 S7 skyfire missiles. Then if you need to kill marines in (or any kind of bikes!) then you have around 10 shots at AP3 and ignore jink. 48" range and can walk 6" more without having to fire snapshots.

phonophox wrote:
First off thanls for the feedback guys.
so heres what i think ill do.
Farseeer
20 Gaurdians with scatter laser and warlock
Wave serpent with sythes
6 jetbikes with 2 bright lances

thats the base, anyway. Bright lances are a no go. Your Guardians can take a second heavy weapon though. You could throw 2 bright lances in with them rather than a single scatter laser, and put 2 scatter lasers in with the jetbikes.

Scorpions are pretty decent, but are not "amazing" like some of the other units in the codex. They definitely aren't bad though, so I'd say go for it. One thing to note though is that aspect formations can only give +1BS or +1WS to the formation as a whole, so it's best to take three shooting units, or 3 melee units, as mixing them results in some units not being able to utilize their buff very effectively.

Personally, I like Vypers. They got cheaper in the new dex, and they can still pump out a good number of shots. Their main downside is that they don't benefit from the same ability as much of the other army has (being able to move, shoot, move). They are, however, a required slot for all three of the core formations for the craftworld warhost detachment, so I'd recommend getting at least one Vyper.

If you're going with aspect warriors I'd suggest one of two routes:
1. CAD/Aspect Host combo
This lets you take pretty much whatever you want and gives your troops objective secured. The customization this offers is perfect for people just getting into the game because it lets them throw virtually any unit into the army to see how it performs and determine if they like it or not. This option is better for shooting-based Aspect Host formations.
example list:
CAD:
- Farseer
- Guardians
- Jetbikes
- Scytheguard in Serpent
Aspect Host (+1BS):
- Warp Spiders
- Fire Dragons in serpent
- Swooping Hawks
This uses lots of the models you already have, and is extremely customizable. Probably the best option for you.

2. Craftworld Warhost Core+Aspect Host
This option is better for assault-based Aspect lists, but at the same time requires a sizable point commitment to a core formation, so would be for larger battles. The upside is that all of your units will be guaranteed a 6" run, which is beneficial for assault-based or close ranged units. Especially Howling Banshees.
Example List
Guardian Stormhost:
- Farseer
- 10 Storm Guardians
- 10 Storm Guardians
- 10 Storm Guardians
- Vaul's Wrath
- War Walkers
- Vypers
Aspect host (+1WS):
- Striking Scorpions
- Howling Banshees
- Shining Spears
This is more something you could eventually build towards. You'd have 6 units in their face on turn 1.

These are just some themed ideas for you to consider when building your army. Ultimately, you can really buy whatever you want and find a way to make it work with the detachments. We're just here to help give you ideas.

What Bojazz said is spot on. I'm running a CAD w/Aspect host this weekend in a tournament. I happen to like dragons and have more models of them, so two units of those in serpents for me. BS5 dedicated transports for those aspect host squads, don't forget. You have a solid core. I like the scythe guard, but am drawn to the sheer destruction the cannon guard can cause with their guns. Rolling with a spirit seer is nice for retools to hit of 1 too, will be fun

Enjoy man!
Alright so a lot of good points here.
first off, good catch with the heavy weapons. ill give the guardians the bright lance, and the jetbikes will have the scatter. Bojazz's first list seems killer. In terms of aspect units I like it goes scorpians, spiders, hawks, so it doesn't seem half bad. Ill still mull it over in my head if Ill get hawks or scorps though. im just playing casual stuff with a friend who runs necrons so who knows.
Point is THANK YOU
for a first post I wasn't expecting much, but dakka delivered, got a lot of good stuff for now and what to build for.
