An odd request on eldar fluff.

Hello all,

I'm on my way out of the hobby, but i'm keeping a collection of farseers/spiritseer/bonesinger/shadowseer/warlocks i've collected over time. I'd like to use them once in a blue moon whenever my flgs does apoc battles.

Here's where you come in to play. Can you think of any craftworlds that would field only a squad of psykers for some reason? I'm looking for a theme to paint and use them by.

I came up with a few options:
1) a craftworld that was psychic holocausted by warp energies, and only the psykers survived. (Plausible??)
2) a craftworld where all of the inhabitants were slain, except a few who managed to escape and now drift between other craftworlds in persuit of revenge.
3) a good old fashioned ulthwe seer council.

But i'm sure there's a story out there i've never heard. Looking for input. Are there any written examples? Or back stories i havent explored? Perhaps some sort of psychic assassination squad? Or suicide bomb?

Thanks in advance!

Ulthwe is your best bet, lots of Seers and Warlocks.

I don't think the first option would be plausible. Reason being that all Eldar are in a sense, psykers, and have a powerful connection to the Warp. The non-Seers just simply shut off and compartmentalise that aspect of their lives. Anything that would hit the regular Eldar would also affect seers and warlocks much worse.

An odd request on eldar fluff.

Well, non-seer Eldar still retain their psychic powers, but they channel them towards non-flashy uses - an Eldar who is a Guardian when they march to war might have dedicated all of their psionics to playing piano really, really well, and is perhaps a developed empath, reading the emotions of their audience to determine how best to entertain them. In battle, their powers are mostly used to enhance their armour - Guardian mesh is psycho-reactive, it uses the powers of the wearer to harden the section of armour that gets hit to blunt the force of the attack.

A Howling Banshee has focussed all her psychic power into her battle frenzy, enhancing her reflexes and empowering her war mask.

Something that has been overlooked in most Eldar fluff I've seen is the possibility for a telepathic battle network - Eldar don't use standard comms gear, so perhaps its just assumed that all unit commanders are in constant psychic contact with high command, and then with their squads? Unfortunately I don't know any fluff to support this.

As for why only a core of psychics, with not troops, is being fielded is easy to answer. They have read the skien of fate, and divined that the only hope lay in a small force, and the inclusion of more eldar would only lead to their deaths and strengthen Slaanesh. Or that their sacrifice will save a whole craftworld, and having more bodies there will just add corpses, not help.
