				<title>Deep Strike: Scatter Happens (More likely to place, but could be further away)</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ So this rule will probably never be used, but I wanted to toy with the idea, and see what others thought.<br /> <br /> What if the following were the rules for Deep Strike scattering?<br /> -When Deep Striking, place and roll as normal.<br /> -Upon scattering into a Mishap, note the location. Roll scatter as per Deep Strike from this location.<br /> --Repeat as necessary until either:<br /> ---A: Legally placeable location is selected, or<br /> ---B: Roll a Direct Hit on a location that would Mishap<br /> <br /> Situation A places as normal. Situation B results in a roll on the mishap table, as normal.<br /> <br /> Some tack-on ideas:<br /> -If mishapping off the table, resume from the closest point on the board edge<br /> -Perhaps force a Dangerous Terrain test for each time Scatter had to be redone?<br /> <br /> I'm not sure if this rule would be better. I was just curious what you would think of such an idea?]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ If this were done, I'd say make the Mishap table more dangerous.<br /> <br /> 1-2: Unit is not placed on the table, becomes a casualty.<br /> 3-5: Models that are unable to be placed are not placed and removed as casualties, but the rest of the squad is placed normally.<br /> 6: Unit goes back in reserves.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I'm afraid I don't see much need for such a rule, Bharring. It potentially slows the game down a bit, and I"m not sure it would make a huge difference.  The chances of taking damage or being destroyed by a mishap are already pretty low between the current mishap table and the changes to dangerous terrain. Your rules make a mishap less likely, but it was already fairly unlikely  unless you're routinely trying to drop squads down on the enemy's lap.  <br /> <br /> Assaulty deepstrikers can generally move fast enough that they can afford to aim their deepstrike for a relatively safe spot.  Shooty deepstrikers generally have ways of reducing their scatter or else have enough range that they can aim for a safe spot.  Warp spiders have battle focus.  <br /> <br /> My issue with mishaps isn't that they happen too often. It's that when they do happen,  there's potential for a feelbad moment. When I lose a  unit to a bad mishap result, it's not exactly fun.  When my opponent loses a unit to a bad mishap result,  I'm glad I don't have to deal with said unit, but it's still not exactly fun.  It's more, "Oh... Ouch. That sucks.  I hope your luck doesn't stay that bad all game, or we're in for an unpleasant session of gaming." I'm not really unhappy with the mishap rules as they stand, but were I to change them, I'd focus on simply making mishaps less of a fun-wrecker.  ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ If my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(808);'>CWE</span> always use the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(683);'>CAD</span> and never the formations, why would my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(119);'>SM</span> flock to Skyhammer?<br /> <br /> Although, admittedly the Demi company is tempting. Most of my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(119);'>SM</span> lists have practically been that since i first assembled my Battle Box (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(29);'>Devs</span> and a Captain were my first purchases).<br /> <br /> This wouldn't change things a lot. But it would certainly help Skyhammer ASMs. It would actually nerf Grav Pods though. Slightly.<br /> <br /> The biggest thing it'd do is make DSers come in out of position more often. In a random position. Potentially anywhere, but highly biased towards the general area they tried to come in.<br /> <br /> Its probably more effort than its worth. I just thought it'd be fun.]]></description>
