Rubicon Models 1/56th-28mm Panther G

I've bought some Achtung Cthulhu miniatures recently and wanted something to act as a centrepiece. This is the Rubicon 1/56th Panther G, painted in a speculative very-late war rushed out the factory look that I used to practice weathering streaks and chipped paint effects. What I like about the Rubicon model is the way that it achieves the effect of the separate interleaved wheels while keeping the number of parts low. The only disappointing aspect are the tracks which are crude. The model is well cast and goes together quickly, there are alternative parts offered but no explanation as to what the alternatives suggest. I chose exhausts and engine deck parts based on photos of late war Panthers. Hope you enjoy!

I've always been a bit dubious of tanks modelled in this as I don't believe they ever would have entered the field without even a slap of yellow or green over them - but for something knowing ahistorical I like the effect.

legio_ultra wrote:
Awesome, love the Panther. It's easy to forget that, to my eye at least, it's only 5" long as it looks larger. I'll take some of these techniques to my 1/35 modelling now that I've had a go on this one.
