The story behind the game was that the Dark Angels and the Space Wolves worked together to repel an Eldar incursion on a planet. At the end of the battle, a squad of Dark Angels scouts were found shot to death by bolter fire. The Dark Angels accused the Space Wolves of killing them, the Space Wolves denied it, but millennia of bad blood between the chapters boiled over into combat!
