I think he could have gone into more detail about what exactly he means by "the opportunity to fail". Some countries have more or less expense and bureaucracy when it comes to starting a small business, it wouldn't be difficult to have less than Germany (known to be one of the worst), though I doubt the US is the easiest in the world either.

I'm also not convinced that the prospect of not being able to afford things like hospital care, makes failure any easier, or less likely. Seems to me that it just adds insult to injury.

America does give a lot of aid, in raw value greater than any other, but 'most generous' is an interesting label. America can afford to give more than other due to the size of their economy. If you rank counties giving aid by a percentage of the national income, America are about 20th, Finland is on top followed by most of Western Europe. Another interesting thing is that (according to wiki) the U.S. give approx $32b while the UK gives $18b, not to be sneezed at, nearly 2/3rds the aid given with only a fifth as many people. So are Americans 'most generous'?

Well, I had a look at the "John Prager University" and their video about the Nuclear Deal with the Iran. It started with Nazi Germany and Britains appeasement policy.

Somehow I was reluctant to continue, so I did not check out their vids about "Why I left Greenpeace", "The lies about climate change" and "GMO are actually super good, don't believe those liberal hippies".

Anyone else with a higher pain threshold or total neglect for his/her own life time willing to do that?

The Russians can be proud of their country as it has been voted Best Country in the World last night (Sunday August, 2) during the annual WCA ceremony. The Russian people were also voted Nicest people on the planet.

More than a hundred prizes have been awarded during the 2015 World Countries Awards, the most prestigious international award ceremony in the world. A night to remember for the people of Russia as they swept nearly all the awards available.

Historic Win For Russia

The Russian team could hardly hide its excitement as the celebrations went on. “Are we surprised? Not really”, Russian Team leader told the journalist, speaking just after receiving the award for Most Humble People In The World.

It turns out that due to a tiny logistical concern, only votes from the Russian judges has been counted. However, Russian organizers emphasized that the issue could not have had any impact on the final outcome.

Nah, Estonia tries hard to become a modern Western country, but for a large part they are also still stuck in the 20th century (from a Western pov). Not to mention the way they treat their ethnic minorities... I'd say Finland is clearly superior in every possible way.

What I mean by that is that many Estonians, especially older generations tend to still have a "Soviet way of thinking" on many issues, similar to Russians, Balts and other former Soviet peoples, which is quite different in many ways from how Western peoples tend to think about things. Estonia really looks to the West, especially to Finland, but even if it looks like a modern Western country, in their mindset they still resemble Russia or Poland more than they do Finland. The best example which shows this is the way they view ethnic minorites (mostly Russians, but also anti-immigration sentiment in general).

Um... in the US, we use the metric system in the scientific and medical community.

Here's a shocker... us redneck'n 'Murricans routinely shuttle back and forth between systems, based on convenience. All mechanics and carpenters and contractors, for example, do some measuring in feet (16 inches between studs) and many in metric (15 mm bolt). It's like we're fluent in both languages.

But that's not unique...really if you think about it, because scientists often talk in other unit of measurements, such as earth-masses, or solar masses, or astronomical units, or parsecs, etc...

So... imperial measurements has their uses... and it works.

And because... FREEDOM!!!
