As for your questions I don't think it'll be a problem if you add Astra Militarium markings on your other miniatures/customize/find some way to connect those physical miniatures to the Grimdark world of 40K. I customize a lot of my Noise Marines (with pieces coming from AoS miniatures, Dark Angels, Chaos Daemons, etc.). As long as they look the part, it's cool with a lot of people. But it's always something you should make sure of first.
