You can use this to make super fast screen caps of something specific.

Go to the GW site and snip some models that you want to use then print it out.

LotR games. They probably won't be the right size, but if you're basically just trying to get a feel for an army, they'll do the job. Just stick a model on top of them when height matters due to terrain and such.

You are, of course, welcome to care about how they look, but are you sure you want to put a ton of time and effort into it if you're just trying to figure out what units you like

Also, can you simply proxy models from a different army for the sake of testing out the rules? I have basically 0 computer skills, and I'm sure something like that requires photoshop.
If I had the templates, it would be way easier.

Well either way; Google it and take a look. You could use that as an alternative. It's not perfect but would save you printing stuff out and using arts and crafts.
