Gale Force Nine terrain

Hey all... wondering if anyone has any thoughts on Gale Force Nine "Battlefield in a Box" terrain pieces? They seem pricey, but they come painted correct? Would be nice to be able to just buy their products qnd put them straight onto a table

Re:Gale Force Nine terrain

I have all of their Badlands series (out of production, I think). I use them for 40k, Gorkamorka, and Old West games too.

The terrain is nicely painted (not elaborately, but nicely) but can also easily be repainted. I repainted the bases on mine to match the board that I had. The stuff is durable and fairly heavy. It is a pain to transport (unless you keep the original boxes, which increases the space required), but will easily stand up to the rigors of gaming. Given the price of GW terrain (which you have to paint as well), it's not a bad price at all.

The terrain isn't necessarily very friendly to having models clambering all over it (not like stepped foam hills), but it is also more useful as LOS blocking stuff than flatter terrain is. I'm very glad I got the stuff I have, and consider it a good purchase.

My club has a pile of their stuff.
Two of the badlands LARGE plateau rocks (we did have a set of the small rubble piles but we swapped that set for another of the plateaus with a local gamer who needed the rock piles for his games.).
A set of the elf ruined columns and the tower.
The rock outcrops (sharper rock piles)
The ruined "gothic" stuff.

No issues with it.
