There's a masters event in Canberra in November (WHFB I think, but it could be more).
Cancon in January long weekend (Canberra, ACT) will have a KoW tourney.

And the comp system we use for WHFB is the ETC one (IE, the one the rest of the world - USA likes to stand alone - uses).

That said, I've heard that WHFB is on the downturn down in Sydney at least (Some of the Aussie ETC team live there) - I don't know how KoW is going, but it's poaching WHFB players up here - the rest have left for other games.

9th Age (gaming community wrought 9th ed) is picking up steam but we're waiting on that to resolve.

Wargamerau is still your best bet for finding that stuff out, though.
