Vive l'empereur - the grande armee in 1/72nd.

Hi all. You may follow my other blog in the painting blog forum, but that is mainly for my commissioned work and general painting. As this is a specific pet project I have wanted to do for awhile, i have decided to make a dedicated thread to cover my progress.

I have always been a fan of the napoleonic period, in fact I study it academically. I have tried building armies in 28mm but considering that the size of the armies I want to do (close to 1-1 or 1-10representation.) The scale was not working for the speed I wanted to paint line infantry. So I picked up a 1/72nd italeri set and tried it out, loved the time the ligne took me, and picked up another box and then went hunting for deals.

It turns out a friend was getting rid of his stuff, and I have now acquired and have a 5.5 lb box of mini's in the mail to me. It worked out to 1256 mini's.

As it stands though, this is what I have painted. Comments and criticism welcome.
